Who am I?
Well, back when I started this blog, everything in the bottom two paragraphs – my original “Who Am I?” description – was true, but times sure have changed! Now I’m a thirty-something mom who’s unabashedly in love with her little girl. I still live in the ‘burbs with my husband in a house that still needs some work, and while I do love food, cooking and going out to eat, it’s no longer part of my job. I’ve made a career shift from writer/editor at a food magazine to web and social media editor for a group of art and design schools. This blog helps keep writing a part of my life and more importantly, lets me track the crazy, challenging, hilarious journey of parenthood for myself and anyone else who wants to listen – and chime in.
(Read about “the old me” below … )
I’m a 32-year-old writer who’s newly pregnant. I know I’m not the first person to blog on this topic and certainy won’t be the last. I wanted to track this experience for my own benefit, and if others read this and get anything out of it, or if we can start a dialogue and share ideas and fears and ups and downs, then all the better.
A few details about me beyond the baby stuff. I live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband in a house that admittedly needs some work. I love food, cooking and restaurants am lucky that these things are an integral part of my everyday life because of my job. I’m also alarmingly clumsy and often sport ugly bruises as a result of running into a counter, table or wall. My hypochondriac tendencies make me wary of how I will handle the physical and emotional roller coaster that is pregnancy (and I think my husband is even more afraid). Wish me luck!
